Water. Snow. Ice. Hail (up to 2.5-inch) while retaining flexibility. ECRS is a permanent roofing solution that encapsulates existing roofing membranes and surfaces.
ECRS was originally formulated as an industrial marine coating for submerged steel.
Water pooling or ponding on flat roofs after storms, snow melts, or heavy rains can accelerate coated roof degradation and aging. While all flat roofs should have some positive drainage, if water remains on a coated roof system after 48 to 72 hours, this issue could lead to more significant problems. Many roof coating warrantees only cover their product for standing water for up to 72 hours. Because ECRS is not a coating but rather an epoxy hybrid permanent roofing system - ponding water can remain on the roof for decades without worrying about ERCS cracking, splitting, or leaking.
With an ambient outside temperature of approximately 76F, black roofs can reach temperatures up to 180F or and higher during the summer months.
With an ambient outside temperature of approximately 81F, the ECRS roof's temperature remains at 70F. ECRS blocks 70% to 80% a buildings heat burden by cooling the roof at an SRI of 108.
Install ECRS anytime and at any temperature above freezing. After curing, ECRS retains flexibility in extreme heat and cold
On average, roofs carry 46% of a building's heat burden. In summer and sunbelt states, roofs will hit 200 degrees 100 or more times yearly, causing a 400 ft long roof to stretch 2 inches. The sun's heat expands the roof, then suddenly cooled by rain on the roof's surface, causing Thermal Roof Shock.
ECRS blocks a massive 70% to 80% of a building's heat burden by cooling the roof at a Solar Reflective Index* (SRI) rate of 108.
Thermal shock causes fasteners to lift and roof seams to separate - causing contraction stress points at every curb, coping cap separation, and overall structural degradation. UV and IR from the sun also degrade roof membranes, corrode seam adhesives, detach granules, and generally wear the roof down.
ECRS lowers roof temperatures by 50 degrees on average, which maintains your roof at a differential of 5 degrees or less from ambient temperature, thus blocking 90% of the leak damage caused by heat.
* SRI is a calculation method using solar reflectance and thermal emittance values to determine the roof's overall capacity to refuse solar heat.

ECRS Is Not a Coating. Permanently Laminates Roofs.
Impervious to Standing Water. Holds Water for Years (if Need Be)
...I spoke with the guys at Dupont, last week. They're very pleased with the roof you guys did with ECRS. Did you know they gave you the coldest, dampest, roof that they had, to test your product? It's doing great. Thanks again to and your guys for doing such a great job. PS: We're talking early next week about doing two more roofs!
...the ECRS crew did a great job on my terminal square roof in Upper Darby , PA, as well as one of our storage buildings. Over 100,000 ft.² of roof and after 11 years I haven’t had any leaks or roofing issues whatsoever . ECRS performs as described, and has saved us a ton of money.
Heat, UV, Ozone, roof temperature extremes, roof sand spirals, etc., while retaining flexibility.
The median temperature differential between an ECRS-coated and an uncoated roof is 45-55 degrees Fahrenheit in high heat.
ECRS shows, in a three-year 3rd party national test, it retains its solar energy blocking power at a much higher rate than the rest of the industry. Most cool roof reflective coatings lose 25% to 50% reflectivity after only two- or three-years exposure to actual conditions. ECRS is certified as averaging a 4.7% loss of reflectivity over three years.
ECRS is 5 to 10 times better at retaining reflectivity over other cool roof coatings in real-world conditions (nationally ranked 3rd-party certified labs' weather tests.)
Factory Guaranteed 20-year Standing Water Warranty at no extra charge. A standard warranty of 20 years includes a standing water warranty. After 20 years and a fresh re-coat, your ECRS roof gets a renewed 20 warranty
Your roof is leaking, too much to ignore, and maybe your budget is tight. Give us a call, and we will install an ECRS solution to permanently patch and repair your roof while making it waterproof - for about ½ the cost of a conventional roof patch, repair, or replacement.
Patching and repairs with ECRS and the poly-mesh fabric is a permanent bonding solution and highly UV resistant. With proper preparation, ECRS is the best patching and repair product you can install.
Seal leaks and encapsulate the specific part of your roof that is leaking. Epoxy is permanent, simply the best patch you can have. ECRS chemically bonds to rubber (EPDM ), asphalt, tar and gravel, and metal roofs.
Because we are not tearing off any part of the roof, flashing, or gutters, ECRS can be applied over planned intervals. For instance, you can do ½ the roof this year and ½ the roof in 2 or 3 years. Or, do the entire roof over the next five years, if you like. ECRS is permanent and easily bonds with itself; you can do your roof as your budget allows.
Yes, we are licensed and insured and bonded where necessary. We are licensed and insured to apply coatings and permanent laminates to roofs and other interior and exterior coatings, paint and other epoxies for other purposes.
Our principal is the Eastern States District Manager, National Trainer, and the sole distributor for the Mid-Atlantic Region for Epoxy Cool Roof Systems (ECRS). We are the national trainers for ECRS and train new contractors throughout the United States. Also, we work directly with the ECRS manufacturer to improve both products and processes.
We specialize in permanent epoxy laminate roofing, which can be installed in stages, such as one year, five years, or 10 years, according to budget. ECRS is a complete laminate roofing system that permanently bonds to existing roof caps. It is a solvent-based product that bonds molecularly with rubber, EPDM, asphalt, BUR, Tar, or any other solvent-based roofing.
Depending on the size, condition, and whether there are ballasted rocks, a 5000-square foot roof takes approximately two to four weeks. First, we wash the roof and strip off all the oils and dirt. Next, we sand it to open up the cap, and then apply ECRS. In the ECRS epoxy, we add fiberglass mesh. Then a second coat of ECRS is applied. Then, a third finish coat is applied with highly reflective white epoxy.
ECRS provides a 20-year renewable factory warranty, plus a 12-year maintenance and workmanship warranty. Then after the original 20 years, the roof should be recoated with one ECRS topcoat. After that is applied, the owner receives another 20-year factory warranty. Every 20 years, this can be done, and another 20-year factory warranty is applied. We have roofs that have been done up to three times thus far. That's 60 years of warranty coverage.
We service the entire United States. Our primary service area is the mid-Atlantic states, and we service the United States with trained installation contractors. We have installed over 12,000,000 sq. ft. of ECRS throughout the US.
Each roofing project is first physically inspected to determine the roof itself and discuss our client's requirements. Our quote is based on roof condition, type, square feet, whether there are ballasted rocks, labor, and materials. Our terms are 50% to commence with the remaining 50% Net 30.
